LOVE - Forever Changes - FAIR vinyl - UK original 1967 LP A1/B1 (+nice sleeve)
The time has come to bite the bullet and sell more of my vinyl collection - some classical, some jazz, some pop, rock, folk & psych. I know it won't be appreciated by my daughter or the next generation, so I'm shifting it myself and hope I find good homes for it. The hard work is deciding what to let go first, but it will probably be duplicates, stuff I have on CD and items unplayed for ages, and I'll just pick from those at random. You never know, there might just be something to suit your taste.
This listing is for an original first press UK copy of one of the best albums ever made BUT in only fair condition
Please bid only if you appreciate that it is not a good copy
Love -
Forever Changes
UK Elektra orange label
1967
Cat Number: EKL 4013 Dead Wax A1 / B1 first press
Mode: Mono
The Album:
One of the musical highlights of the past ten years for me was to get to see Arthur Lee's reformed Love doing the 'Forever Changes' concerts (I was fortunate enough to get to see two). RIP Arthur - this album will live forever.
PLEASE understand that it's an awful copy. There's a chap who lists on Ebay who would have you believe that every copy of every LP ever made - apart from the ones he sells - was dragged to every wild party in the world and rubbed into the floor by all attendees. Well this might be just one of those he bangs on about. Believe it or not, I was given this in 1969, so it had seen it's bad days way back then. I only kept it as it has a decent cover, and is an original, but I never played it until now - I got myself a decent copy instead.
Condition:
Cover: Fully laminated single sleeve has fared well. Minor laminate creases and age discolouration but it's still solid and intact with clearly legible spine, no writing or stickers. Grades as at least VG.
Labels: Orange matt labels are OK - lots of spindle marks but no writing or stickers.
Vinyl: Vinyl has a large number of light scratches. It actually plays a bit better than I thought it would - only because I don't think any of them cause sticks or jumps. There is however a quite intrusive background crackling throughout - and no amount of cleaning will remove it. Fair condition as per Record Collector definition.
Overall:
A decent sleeve housing a scratched copy of this album - I'd guess that this might be professionally graded at (cover / vinyl) VG / Fair
Terms:
Please note that I try to test-play at least part of each record before listing, but do not have time to play fully in all cases. I played a lot of this one, but if you do discover a problem which I might have missed, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do all I can to rectify the situation.
Postage: Approximate prices - UK £3.00 for 1 or 2 LPs, Europe £5.20 + £1.80 each additional, Rest of world £8.30 + £3.70 each additional item - these amounts include estimated actual Royal Mail cost for first class or air mail, plus 40p for cost of packaging material (a brand new custom mailer with stiffener).
Happy to hold records for a short while if you wish to bid on more and combine shipment.
