BLIND FAITH “BLIND FAITH RECORDED LIVE ALONG THE U.S. TOUR” Vinyl LP
Astonishingly rare and seldom, if ever, heard live recording from various concert venues during Blind Faith’s United States tour in 1969.
The all-star line-up of Blind Faith was a once in a lifetime dream: Eric Clapton’s divine-force guitar work; Steve Winwood’s Ray Charles-like soulfully soaring vocals; Ginger Baker’s from-the-trenches-of-the-earth drum implosions; and Rick Grech’s train-chuggin’ bass lines. As great as it gets!
The definitive diamond among this treasure chest of scarce live nuggets is an extraordinarily toned-down and infectiously funky version of Robert Johnson’s blues classic “Crossroads.” For my money, this version affirmatively trumps Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker’s previous cover of this song with Jack Bruce while banded as Cream, as well as Lynyrd Skynyrd’s formidable version.
Other great live performances on this LP include “Well All Right,” “Can’t Find My Way Back Home,” “Presence Of The Lord,” “Means To An End,” and “Had To Cry Today.”
The professionally wrought sound quality of this mega-scarce is likened to the highly reputable production work of Trade Mark of Quality (TMOQ) LP releases.
