APRIL ORCHESTRA PRESENTE CARAVELLI Vol 16 MUSIC LIBRARY Lp. Original French pressing on the CBS Label (APR 16) from 1977.

HOT FRENCH LP FUNK

RECORD GRADING EX / COVER GRADING VG +

Here it is, the rarest, best and funkiest April Music Library in the whole series! Too many killer trax to mention so we'll only comment on a few. AVANT L'ENLISEMENT is the one that really does it for us, a menacing and particluarly hypnotic funk groove... delirious string loops, funky fender bass (wicked basslines!), dark wah wah riffs and bumpy drums! BASE POUR TRAVAUX  RYTHMIQUES is even funkier with rolling drums and breakdowns, very fat  bass, strings and funky fender rhodes solo! More amazing French funk with a  distinctive Cop funk cum Euro thriller soundtrack vibe on
OBSESSIONNELLEMENT VOTRE and DERNIERE TURBULENCE! Superb, spiralling strings, druggy wah wah riffs, fender rhodes, beats and basslines! Serious beatheadz are still killing for the solid gold hip hop beats and
dark strings of L'ETRANGE DR PERSONNE as comped on Dusty Fingers! Endless, perfectly paced beats! Superb grooves kind of like Goraguer's Le Planete Sauvage.

If you are into Library Music you have already heard about this LP. This is one of the best, if not the best of all the April Orchestra releases.

It takes only one look at Caravelli's discography to understand that this record is an enigma. You can listen to fifty of his dull orchestral records without finding even ten seconds worth of sample so it's quite surprising that the french/Italian conductor released this Hip Hop producer's dream at the end of the seventies. You are about to hear deep dark Funk with a perfect instrumentation, tight drums, fat bass, occasional organ and a string section that has more to do with Bernard Herrmann than André Rieu...and what about those strange titles that look like a catalogue of Grand Guignol Theater plays, "L'étrange Dr. Personne", "Métamorphose démentielle", "Cadence pour un fou"...I really like this record !

Describe an almost meant record, used grade for records that appear virtually flawless but not perfect. A very minor scuff and very little else can appear on the record. This will most likely have occurred during packaging, It should play without any noise over the flaw. The flaw should be very hard to see. ANY blemish, prevents records from being M.
