Description

Horace Silver Quintet

6 Pieces of Silver

Recording Label: Blue Note Release Date: 1957 Catalog Number: BLP 1539 Runout Side 1: RVG BN-LP 1539-A-1 9M Runout Side 2: RVG BN-LP 1539-B 9M Runout includes the Plastylite (P) "ear" Vinyl was pressed with a flat edge.
Album Notes: An early mono repress of 6 Pieces of Silver  issued by Bluenote with the blue and white label that was standard for all releases from 1957-1959. The mailing address printed on the back cover is 47 West 63rd St, New York rather than the Lexington Avenue address that appeared on the original pressing.
Record is overall in VERY GOOD+ condition with a VERY GOOD Cover.
  • Vinyl: VG+ and has few very faint surface scratches. Vinyl is bright and shiny, still has a good luster. Overall looks barely played. Label is mildly stained from aging and exhibits minor wear to the spindle hole. Plays with occasional light crackling.
  • Album Cover: VG and exhibits moderate staining and darkening from age, most notably to the rear where there is a prominent stain to the bottom right corner. Rear exhibits writing in pencil and ink.  The top seam is split and has been repaired with clear tape, likely by a previous owner while the spine and bottom seams exhibit moderate wear to the finish. Corners exhibit wear.
  • Interior Dust Sleeve: Appears to be original, tanned with aging, and exhibits significant wear along the top edge.
  • Album may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
  • Record would benefit from professional cleaning.
  • We grade our LPs based on the Record Grading Standards found at DT Magazine (lpgrades-html)
