Cantata Of New Life

American Lutherian Church (US 1967)

Record / Cover: VG++ / VG++ (fold out)

Totally rare and insane LP celebrating the 450th Reformation Anniversary. One side has a 28 minute long cantata written by Robert Way especially for the event with lyrics written and spoken by legendary Xian radio guru John Rydgren. Conducted by NFL composer Sam Spence.

The B-side features 12 incredibly strange and unbelievably hip radio spots written and of course spoken by John Rydgren himself. Each spot is 1 minute long and too good to be true. For christ’s sake, who would have thought that church once was so cool.

LP is in excellent condition with minimal noise during the introduction speech for the Cantata. Radio spots are M-. It comes in a heavy fold out cover with a brochure glued to one side inside. Only the back spine shows some edge wear.

Sam Spence, the conductor gave it to me a few years ago. The cantata btw was recorded at his (and my) hometown Munich, Germany.

My Grading:

M- (like unplayed, minimum, sporadic background noises)

VG++ (light background noise (klicks or pops) every once in a while, in quite passages or in-between songs)

VG+ (like VG++ but a little bit more used, still a highly enjoyable record)

VG (frequent cracking, clicks or pops, occasional small scratches)

VG- (continuously noise, stronger scratches, but record is still running all the way through)

G (no records in this condition are offered)

All records are original issues unless something else is stated.

Payment via Paypal. International bidders welcome. Postage from the US is $20 with insurance. Germany 4,60 Euro with Hermes. Rest of the world on request.
