The mega rare UK 1st pressing, on translucent ruby red vinyl, with 'Old Blue?' etched in dead wax and housed in iconic Peter Saville designed sleeve.

Condition:
The rough textured cardboard sleeve is in 'very good+' condition with some light rubbing and wear to edges, the spine is square and fully legible. The rounded corner inner sleeve is also in 'very good+' condition, with no rips tears or text, just some light rubbing and a few tiny brown spots to the top right on one side. The translucent red vinyl itself is in 'very good' condition with only some whispy hairlines and a few superficial marks which do not affect play.
Ruby red translucent vinyl info:
The UK first press of Closer comes in two vinyl editions; the standard black and a dark translucent red. It can only be differentiated when holding against a strong light source. Apparently, this is due to Martin Hannett, who ordered a second master cut after he found out that 5000 records were pressed without the initial master having been approved. The ruby red vinyl is the rarer and more sought after of the two. There also are two sleeve variations: A plain carton cover with glossy inner sleeve and having straight corners. Or a thick rough cardboard cover with rough inner sleeve and having rounded corners.
General Info:
Closer is the second and final studio album by the English post-punk band Joy Division. It was released on 18 July 1980, through record label Factory, following the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis two months earlier. Closer is one of the first albums that was reviewed with the "gothic rock".
The album cover was designed by Martyn Atkins and Peter Saville, with photography by Bernard Pierre Wolff. The photograph on the cover is of the Appiani family tomb in the Cimitero Monumentale di Staglieno in Genoa, Italy. In a 2007 documentary on the band, designer Peter Saville commented that he, upon learning of singer Ian Curtis's suicide, expressed immediate concern over the album's design as it depicted a funeral theme, remarking "we've got a tomb on the cover of the album!"
