Pink Floyd, Meddle

Another Floyd record that I am selling from the collection - have a couple of these, so time to let one go.
This is the First Japanese press and in my opinion is as good as it gets for Meddle. Personally, I prefer this version to the UK pressing not least because of the quality of the thick cardboard sleeve.
Japanese pressings, will often divide opinion, yet they are fun to own. Apart from the fact that are meticulously pressed and mastered they are often very well cared for.  As is the case here.
This version differs from the UK pressing:

  • Thick Cardboard and laminated outer sleeve
  • Protective Poly record sleeve
  • 12" Tour Poster
  • 8 Page Lyric Booklet
  • Record manufactured by Toshiba Industries
Normally there would be an external OBI strip, this is missing.

The record itself is very clean, looking and sounding great. The clarity is superb and noise floor is really low.
There is about 1 minute of crackle in the 'wind' intro of One of These days, then that is it. Clean all the way through.
Echoes is clean throughout.
Sounds superb.

Grading is Excellent.
The thick cardboard sleeve has a little shelf wear and a couple of corner bumps - see pictures. Some light foxing on the inner gatefold, nothing serious though.
Poster and inner booklet are both in great condition for age. Plus, the original record inner sleeve is included and intact.
Overall Sleeve Grade is just Ex-.
This is cracking sounding record, often hard to find in the UK sounding this good.  Took me a while to get as good a copy as this.

If you haven't tried a Japanese pressing before you may just be surprised. Certainly a better price than trying to get a decent UK 1st.
Play tested on a Rega P8. Recently pro cleaned. Will be supplied with new archival inner sleeve and poly outer.
