A fantastic and mega-rare 1st pressing from South Africa on the red ‘unboxed’ Decca label. The last album with major contributions from Brian Jones sees the group step out of their psychedelic haze and return to their much loved harder edged blues-rock material. To many fans this album ranks as their best and with ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ ; ‘Street Fighting Man’ and ‘Stray Cat Blues’ it makes a very strong case.
A comparison of the groups Decca labels shows this South African design to be unique in many ways and an added bonus to the avid collector.

CONDITION : - see 4 photos above
Vinyl : A nice thick piece here at over 160 grams and appears to have been well cared for. The odd very light mark only and it tracks along great with a terrific clean sound. I detected minimal background noise, the faintest few light pops of no real significance, no major clicks, no skips, no lead-in/lead-out hiss and a pleasure to listen to. Rated an EX+.
Labels : Clean. No spindle marks.
Sleeve : An excellent gatefold jacket here. The outer cover is laminated however I note the laminate does not extend to any of the outer edges on the front nor to the outer / entrance edge on the bag which seems a little unusual in design. Otherwise no writing or splits and it presents extremely well. The laminate is lifting a touch on the front to the left of the writing of “Rolling Stones” as well to a lesser degree near the initials “R.S.V.P.”.
The wide / thick and flat spine is perfect. The inside picture is near new and overall it is hard not to be pleased with this cover.
