This listing is for one (1) 1973 SLADE SLADEST LP vinyl record album on Reprise Records. This LP comes from my personal record collection, so it has been handled and stored very carefully. It is used and is in very good playing condition with a few visible light/minimal surface scuffs or scratches. The cover shows a little shelf wear, and the inside jacket shows some wear. Plays very clean, with a few audible pops and clicks here and there, and some very light crackling in spots. After two more #1 singles following their previous studio album, and with drummer, Don Powell laid up from an auto accident, Slade decided to release this greatest hits compilation (this is the U.S. version of that album). The UK album (which has a few additional tracks) entered the UK charts at #1 and gave the band another Top 10 album in most other countries. This U.S. version is a consolidation of that album into ten songs, and not only does the album offer up five previous #1 hits in the UK ("Coz I Luv You," "Take Me Bak 'Ome," "Mama Weer All Crazee Now," "Cum On Feel The Noize," and "Skweeze Me Pleeze Me,"), it also includes two #2 hits ("Gudbuy T' Jane," and "My Friend Stan"), a #4 hit ("Look Wot You Dun"), and a #16 hit ("Get Down And Get With It"). The only remaining song on the album, "My Town," is arguably one of the best songs on the LP and was released as the B-side to the "My Friend Stan" single. That makes for perhaps the most impressive 10-song greatest hits compilation in rock history. I've said this about Slade's previous studio release and I'll say it about this album. If you somehow missed this great LP, you owe it to yourself to buy a copy, put it on your turntable and crank it up loud! One of my personal all-time favorite bands for a reason, and this compilation is an excellent collection of Slade's early hits. Slade was definitely a band ahead of its time. A nice addition to anyone's LP collection! From a pet-free, non-smoking home. Enjoy!
