CONDITION

LABELS : Both labels are clean

SLEEVE : The sleeve here regrettably has a few flaws however still quite acceptable for this rarity in many respects. Visually the front is reasonably clean and the spine is intact. All four corners have minor damage from age-wear and the top has a split (above the word ‘mono’) which has been neatly repaired as best as possible. The unlaminated back cover has a previous owners name and noticeable damage at the top corners, moreso at the top left. Soil marks from over 45 years storage are also visible though thankfully the cardboard is thick and shows no signs of ring-wear.
Overall certainly not the greatest though you could do a lot worse as the Please Please Me covers always seem susceptible to wear and tear of varying degrees.

DESCRIPTION

This is the 2nd UK issue on the yellow and black Parlophone label with fold-back cover. The first 2 releases were on the black and gold design label and the first yellow/black issue lacked the 'Recording First Published' text which is plainly visible here on the label.. ….so technically this record is the fourth UK issue, still from 1963 and still with -1 matrix numbers indicating that this copy was among the first pressed:-
Side One : XEX 421-1N
Side Two : XEX 422-1N

Another original 1963 pressing verification point here is the 'The Parlophone Co Ltd' perimeter text along with 'Recording First Published 1963' to the left of the spindle hole. Also included is the original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner sleeve.

A nice pick-up here of this timeless & classic album from the Fab Four.
