Description
It is with some reservation that I offer up for auction an album from a group that has been called a masterpiece of Modern Primitivism - It was Rolling Stone Magazines Comeback album of the year 1980 and an album that inspired Kurt Cobain- a group that Frank Zappa called "Better than the Beatles" - I present to you the coolest thing to come out of New Hampshire since (rip) Ronnie James Dio - THE SHAGGS Philosophy Of The World Rounder/Red Rooster 103 1980 Vinyl VG++ Cover VG++
"There are many things I wonder - There are many things I don't
It seems as though the things I wonder most are the things I never find out."
from Things I Wonder... The Shaggs
The Shaggs are Betty Helen and Dorothy Wiggin. These sisters have a naivete and innocence that is refreshing and sometimes ingenious. Sometimes refered to as Art Brut - The Shaggs style is raw but honest. Even though they could have benefited from a metronome and a tune up they have been compared to the Jazz compositions and structures of Ornette Coleman - another much misunderstood artist
"It doesn't matter what you do It doesn't matter what you say
There will always be one who wants things the opposite way - We do our best we try to please
But we're like the rest we're never at ease you can never please everyone in this world"
from Philosophy Of The World...THE SHAGGS
Don't miss out on this rare and most unusual album by a group that is somehow still talked about today 40 years after its original release and often referred to in music philosophy classes across the world. This would make the most perfect gift for the serious vinyl collector. You have to listen for your self to appreciate the uniqueness of this once in a lifetime gathering of talent and honesty something not seen before or since in popular music history.

I am thinning my record collection and selling the ones that are in the best of condition or the most rare. I try to listen to most of them but some may be visual grading. I'm sure you won't be disappointed but the records are sold as is. Email with any questions. Keep checking as I plan to list a few every week. Thanks for looking!
