I bought this LP new in May 1973.

Cover - No skull.  Shrink on.  No writing.  No cardboard splits.  Red sticker on shrink.  Very little shelving/handling evidence.

Vinyl - Black labels.  Some rubs, light marks.  Plays great.

Sleeve - Plain white paper.

We know the music.  Have some fun after you’ve listened to “The Gift” and “Sister Ray” a dozen times.  Adjust your controls to have only the music to hear Lou winding and twisting his guitar.

Some years after this came out Lou told Lester Bangs in a CREAM magazine interview he was as good a guitar player as Jimi Hendrix.  Lester seemed to scoff.  Not me.  “I Heard Her Call My Name” is probably my favorite song ever.  Those two guitar breaks rivet my attention.  This version of “WhiteLight/White Heat” is, of course, the standard.

Does anybody provide a tense, heartbeat backup better than Moe Tucker’s drumming?

Anyway, which pressing is this?

The Block S is the logo for MGM. MGS  and the Block S probably indicate the mastering.  The K and backwards K probably indicate Keel Mfg Corp pressed this.  The MGM sites indicate they shifted much of their pressing to Keel after or during 1971.  But these could still be pressed from the original masters.
