This record has been cleaned and played through completely both sides on a Thorens Turntable as well as visually inspected under a bright halogen desk lamp to provide an accurate grading.

CONDITION ( see 4 photos above ...)
VINYL : Very tidy / glossy throughout / nice thick pieces of vinyl / not overly played / a rich and full mono sound throughout the 4 sides / light marks adorn the 4 sides here however the only sound blemish noticeable were a few light pops on ‘Don’t Pass Me By’ / no skips or crackles / no lead-in noise and a pleasure to listen to / well worth grabbing here and Rated a solid VG+ on looks though I found the playback quality equal to EX easily.LABELS : clean with KT stampers on Side 4 / light spindle marks
GATE-FOLD SLEEVE : quite presentable
front cover : some nicks along the front left hand spinal-edge along with sporadic age-wear spots / minor indentation from the vinyl but enough to call it major ring-wear / a little edge-wear along top entrance / a little expected discolouring typical with this issue and a small crease mark at lower left hand corner
centre covers : terrific and difficult to fault much at all
back cover : again like the front some sporadic age-spots and vinyl indentation at the top only / a little edge-wear along top entrance
Overall : no writing or splits and certainly much better than average / more than acceptable for this rarity.
BLACK INNER SLEEVES : one sleeve is excellent / a couple of small tears on the lower inner rim of the other sleeve only that have been invisibly repaired so as no further damage is possible / no splits / minimal creasing / most acceptable
POSTER and PHOTOS : Poster :- near new / no writing or splits / no tape or residue / superb
Photos :- quite acceptable / no writing or marks / a few light creases at the top of John’s pic and again more noticeable on the shot of Ringo / still very presentable
DESCRIPTION
This is the original UK top-loading 1968 Mono issue of the Beatles classic White Album…complete with black inner sleeves, poster and photos.1st pressings are identifiable by the "Sold in UK" statement across the top of the labels. All subsequent Apple issues from 1969 through the early 70's featured dark labels without the "Sold in UK" statement across the label.
The Matrix numbers here (followed by the stamper numbers in brackets) are as follows :
Side 1 ~ XEX 709-1 (GDH)
SIDE 2 ~ XEX 710-1 (AH)
SIDE 3 ~ XEX 711-1 (TA)
SIDE 4 ~ XEX 712-1 (GMD)
This expansive 9th official album from the Fab Four which highlights the distinct personalities of John, George, Paul and Ringo. With the tension mounting amongst each other, the lads appear here to be playing like session men on each other’s songs. Despite it all, this sprawling 2-record remains a classic and a timeless masterpiece of their work.
A serious collectors item for Beatles fans.

The album was the first album The Beatles undertook following the death of their manager Brian Epstein. In 1997, The Beatles ‘white album’ was named the 10th greatest album of all time in a 'Music of the Millennium' poll conducted by HMV, Channel 4, The Guardian and Classic FM. In 1998, Q magazine readers placed it at number 17, while in 2000 the same magazine placed it at number 7 in its list of the 100 Greatest British Albums Ever. In 2001, the TV network VH1 named it as the 11th greatest album ever. In 2006, the album was chosen by Time Magazine as one of the 100 best albums of all time and it also came in at number 10 in Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time in 2003.SONGS
