This is a Limited Edition of 300 copies ONLY of an Exact Reproduction of Elvis Presley's First Recording at Memphis Recording Studio's. Pressed on 10 inch, (the same as his first acetates) Vinyl, My Happiness/That's when your Heartaches begin.

My Happiness/That’s When Your Heartaches Begin was originally a white label with typewriting on it. A leftover of the Sun label from Prisonaires' Softly And Tenderly (Sun 189) single was flipped over so that the back was used. On the original acetate can you see the Sun Label thru the label. This reproduction label is exactly the same. (I've tried to enhance the photo so the Sun Label is visible if you look closely. It is very visible under normal light but difficult to photograph).

In August 1953 a very young Elvis Presley walked into the local Memphis Recording Service. He paid $ 4.00 to recorded two sides and get them home with him on a one of kind two sided acetate. The songs were the two ballads My Happiness and That’s When Your Heartaches Begin. Elvis probably hoped that Sam Phillips (the owner of Memphis Recording Service and the founder of the local record label Sun Records) would pay attention to him and that he might get a chance on being invited for a real recording session. Sam wasn't there that day but Marion Keisker who at that time worked for Sam did the recordings and noted that Elvis was a great ballad singer.

During my travels, I purchased this lp along with a few others at a very famous Record store in Memphis, TN. several years ago and just dug them out in my continuing storage building treasure hunt. MY DAD was a big Elvis fan and they were purchased as a gift for him.

What Elvis Collector or fan wouldn't want to add an exact duplicate of Elvis' first recording to their collection. In answer to several questions I have been asked. I DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THIS EXCEPT WHAT I WAS TOLD BY THE RECORD STORE OWNER. I do know he has been in business sine the 60s and is a very reputable shop owner so I believe he was straight up with me about it. I have tried to research this further and did not find anything comparable to it on Ebay so I would guess it is very Limited Production as he said. He told me the Elvis Estate authorized this pressing in connection with some Anniversary (I can't remember). and they were gone the first day..
