Condizioni : la copertina presenta un moderato ring wear e alcune tracce d'usura lungo il bordo superiore nel retro; grande stato, EX+ / il disco era sigillato dalla casa discografica ma ho tolto la pellicola protettiva perche notavo che comprimeva troppo la copertina con conseguente aumento di ring wear. Inoltre ho dovuto constatare che il vinile ha qualche piccolo segno di sfregamento con la copertina interna e il suo ascolto rivela un pò di leggero rumore superficiale su alcune tracce; grande stato, EX+

Condition : cover shows a moderate ring wear and some traces of attrition along the top edge in the back, EX+ / the record was factory sealed but I removed the protective wrap because I noticed that the cover was compressed with a consequent increase of ring wear. I also found that vinyl has some small sign of rubbing with the inner sleeve and its listening reveals a bit of slight surface noise on some tracks, EX+

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : Morricone con "Per un Pugno di Dollari" dette vita alla cosidetta musica per spaghetti western che lui stesso portò al tramonto con la magnifica partitura di "C'era Una Volta il West" e seppellendola definitivamente con l'altrettanto splendida colonna sonora di "Giù la Testa". Luis Enriquez Bacalov sin dal suo arrivo alla RCA nel 1960 aveva stretto un forte legame sia collaborativo che umano con il compositore Romano, condividendo in campo musicale il gusto per gli arrangiamenti innovativi e in minor misura la sperimentazione di nuove tecniche compositive. Così nelle colonne sonore per western passa da "Django" e "Quién Sabe?" a "Lo Chiamavano Mezzogiorno". La musica di questo film è molto bella e completamente libera dai vecchi stilemi che caratterizzavano i film western negli anni sessanta. A mio avviso, un ascoltatore qualsiasi di questo album senza conoscere il suo titolo difficilmente sarebbe in grado di riconoscere esattamente a quale genere di film la musica fa riferimento. Effettivamente sono molti i brani che escono fuori dagli schemi tradizionali: si ascolti ad esempio "Prologue"(a2) con sonorità leggere e sfuggenti, come piccoli frammenti di musica d'avanguardia, che solo con l'intervento di varie percussioni prende vigore o "Highlands" (a3) caratterizzato da un inconsueto uso di chitarra, flauto e percussioni così come in "Fan" (b3) o infine "Fire and Guns" (b5) che inizia con sparuti suoni di violino e violente percussioni mentre l'orchestra progressivamente aumenta l'intensità ritmica. "Rimes" (b1) è caratterizzata dall'affascinante suono di un armonica, e qui c'è un po di West, con vari suoni che gli rimbalzano attorno. Il tema principale del film, "The Man Called Noon" (a1, b7), ha una straordinaria dolcezza melodica enfatizzata dalle intense armonie classiche dell'orchestra.  

Notes : Morricone with "A Fistful of Dollars" gave birth to the so-called spaghetti western music that later he led to sunset with the magnificent score of "Once Upon a Time in the West" and burying it definitively with the equally wonderful soundtrack of "Duck, You Sucker". Luis Enriquez Bacalov since his arrival at the RCA in 1960 had a strong relationship both under the collaborative perspective and the human side with the Roman composer by sharing in musical field the taste for the innovative arrangement and to a lesser extent the experimentation of new compositional techniques. Thus in the western film he changes from "Django" and "Quien Sabe?" to "The Man Called Noon". This score is very nice and completely free of the old style that characterized the spaghetti western movies in the sixties. In my opinion, any listener of this album without knowing its title would hardly be able to recognize exactly to what kind of film the music is related. Indeed there are many tracks coming out of the traditional schemes: for example, listen to "Prologue" (a2) from slight and elusive sounds, like small fragments of avant-garde music, which gets strength with the involvement of various percussions or "Highlands" (a3) characterized by an unusual use of guitar, flute and percussion instruments as well as in "Fan" (b3) or, finally, "Fire and Guns" (b5) that begins with scant sonorities of violin and violent percussions while the orchestra gradually increases the rhythmic intensity. "Rimes" (b1) is characterized from the fascinating sound of a harmonica, and here's a bit of West, with various sonorities bouncing around. The main theme, "The Man Called Noon" (a1, b7), has an extraordinary melodic sweetness emphasized by intense classical harmonies of the orchestra.
