Up on the auction block: Very rare Direct Metal Mastering (Eurodisk Teldec Technology) duplication plates for Lush's debut album, Gala.
These are copper duplication plates used in the pressing plant and are thus not playable on a turntable. Each plate represents one side of the record. Since they are metal and have not been stored at 0 degrees Fahrenheit, they do show some signs of oxidation (see pics above).
These are truly one-of-a-kind items and are suitable for framing and display. Perfect for any 4AD / Britpop / Shoegaze collection!

Pressing Year:  These plates are dated: 20-12-2-26 JS (plate A) and 28-16-8-10 JS (plate B) -- which is September 26, 1990. The were received at the mastering house April 10, 1990.
Disc Condition:  Shows some signs of oxidation of the copper. No cracks! Very clean looking and would look great framed. Jacket Condition:  Original sleeves from mastering house show some signs of age. All writing on them is original. Very cool items!

Grading Info:
All records are graded using the Goldmine Magazine record grading standard (see below). Each record is visually graded under strong light. If a record is play graded, it will be noted in the item description.

Goldmine Magazine Record Grading Standard:
M (Mint) – Perfect, flawless. Still sealed in original packaging and never played. These are RARE. 
M- or NRMT (Mint Minus or Near Mint) – The highest grade for a record that has been played.  The album is in excellent condition and shows no visible signs of wear or damage that will affect sound quality.
VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus) – Only the slightest of wear, certainly no deep scratches. Cover may have slight ring wear and minor seam splitting.
VG+ (Very Good Plus) – Well cared for. Though there may be more wear to the cover and record it should play without skipping or repeating.
VG (Very Good) – Still good condition, but more wear than VG+.  
VG- (Very Good Minus) – Generally not collectible condition, unless it’s a super rare record.  
G (Good) – Lots of wear, but still playable. 
WBR (Wrecked But Rare) – Otherwise known as a Starter Copy. Not cracked, but a starter copy.


Shipping Info:
We ship on Mondays and Thursdays. All auctions end on Sunday evening PST, so if payment is received by Monday 2PM PST your item will likely be shipped out. If not, item will ship the following Thursday if payment is received by then.
All LPs are professionally packed and shipped in sturdy record mailers with a double layer of bubble wrap. I take great care in packing items to avoid bending and seam splits during shipment.
