LUSH Spooky 1992 UK 4AD Double 10" Vinyl LP Limited Edition Excellent Condition. Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class.
Sleeve and inner sleeves at all in excellent condition, with no splits, tears, bends or creases. There is a small abrasion at the opening, which I have photographed, but that is it. After a clean, the vinyl does full justice to that deep, layered 4AD recording style. The package is a gatefold sleeve, with printed inner picture sleeves, featuring the familiar Vaughan Oliver art design. It’s a really beautiful package, in looks and sound, that has been kept in great condition.
I bought Lush’s debut mini album without knowing anything else about them beyond having heard the track “Baby Talk” on John Peel one night and was blown away by this beautiful combination of feedback guitars and Cocteau Twins-style vocals with a massive driving energy.
A little while later they released their first full album and it really is a thing of beauty, transcending any labels you might force on it like “shoe gazing” or “dream pop”. It’s just a glorious 40 minutes that should have given the band far more exposure than it did.
The standard release of this album was a standard 12 track LP, but this limited edition spread them across two 10” discs, 3 tracks per side.

All records will be posted in Defendapack Twistwrap double thickness record mailers and with the disc *outside* the sleeve and inside protective bubblewrap, so there will be no new corner damage or holes in the edges caused by the LP sliding inside the sleeve in transit.
All existing wear, tear and damage done to the sleeve when I was a teenager and didn't think the state of my records was any concern of anyone else other than myself, will be either described or will be clearly photographed.

As a personal note: this is my own vinyl collection. I'm downsizing, so saying a ceremonial goodbye to my LPs and singles that have been part of my life for the best part of 50 years. I'm not a dealer: these records were bought to listen to - in many cases to listen to A LOT. And they've been with me through goods times and bad times. I'm a very careful owner, so they're mostly in really condition for their age (wish I could say that for other things), but none of them are in mint condition.
As part of saying goodbye, I'm first cleaning them using a DISCO-ANTISTAT RECORD CLEANER, and to be honest they have never sounded this good - in some cases they're better than the day I bought them. Then I'm giving them a last play through using a new stylus, paying attention to any surface noise, audible scratches etc. I'm noticing that vinyl really took a plunge in quality around 1990 :-) both in weight and sound. Because of this last play through, I can honestly tell you what they sound like after a clean.
This is a slow process - about ten records a week - so please save my eBay selling page and see if anything else you're interested in crops up: having been raised under the wing of John Peel, it's a very eclectic collection.
