Lyn Dobson helped to introduce the tenor saxophone and flute to British rock.
A featured soloist with Georgie Fame And The Blue Flames and Manfred Mann in the 1960s, he went on to make important contributions to albums by Humble Pie, the Locomotive, Roy Russell, Keef Hartley, Nick Drake, John Martyn, Ian Matthews And Southern Comfort and Soft Machine.
He released a solo album, Jam Sandwich, in 1974.
Although his early influences ranged from the folk-blues of Sonny Terry and the New Orleans piano playing of Jelly Roll Morton to the sophisticated jazz of the Modern Jazz Quartet, Dobson's music became increasingly more diverse, incorporating elements of Baltic, Chinese, Indian and Celtic and modern classical music.

LABELS: The labels are clean, bright and unmarked with just one light spindle trace - beautiful barely played copy
VINYL Visual: The vinyl surfaces still retain their original deep, like new, glossy sheen and are practically unmarked
VINYL Audio: Sensational audio delivery - crystal clear, deep, rich and sharp sound and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing and it was a real pleasure to hear this one as it was completely new to me) there are no scratches, no sticks/jumps, no surface noise and barely any clicks or pops, just a few on the quiet beginning of "Angel Band" otherwise, pretty much perfect throughout. This is an incredibly impressive recording which plays to a very high standard with great clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion and is very critically graded EXCELLENT+ for audio - great LP and very rare (not a word I often use but I've never seen another one)
SLEEVE: The fully laminated single sleeve is also EXCELLENT+ (at least) - clean, bright and fresh with a deep, unrubbed, glass-like gloss to the laminate and practically unworn edges (with just a small 'knock' to the top corner) and the spine is straight and true with all text clear and bold - great sleeve
