WWII MEXICAN FOLK SONGS OF WORLD WAR II VINYL LP

33 1/3 RPM (1989) Released in Mexico by Asociacion Mexicana de Estudios Fonograficos (AMEF-27)Includes 13 different Original recordings from the 1941 – 1944 period: boleros, military marchs and corridos, all of them related to the war. As you probably know the mexican involvement in WWII began in 1942 when El Escuadron 201 or the Aztec Eagles as they were also know, a group of 300 Mexican pilots and support personnel served in the Philippines and participated in combat missions against the Japanese Imperial Army, so this magnificent LP captures the spirit and the feelings of Mexico and many other Latinamerican countries at that time.

The gatefold cover features spectacular pictures of historical personages and propaganda material from the period. The record includes the following tracks: Despedida (Farwell)/ A la guerra me llevan (They took me to the war)/ Corrido el potrero del llano/ Cantar del regmiento (Platoon song)/ America unida (United America) / Viva Mexico – Viva America/ America inmortal (Immortal America) / Mi madre y la guerra (My mother and the war)/ El soldado mexicano (The mexican soldier) / Adios mi Juan/ Ah que muchacha/ Humanidad (Humanity) / Adios mi vida (Goodbye my love) / Adios a my novia (Goodbye my girl).

Most of the songs are performed for great mexican artists of that time: Pedro Vargas, Tito Guizar, Las Abajeñas, Mariachi Vargas de Tecatitlan and many others
