Alex Rodriguez (guitar, bass, composer) is one of the most important jazz guitarists of Venezuela in the seventies. Born in 1952, began his musical studies at an early age and is part of several rock groups, as well as have the opportunity to integrate prestigious musical projects like the New Wave Orchestra Aldemaro Romero teacher. Creates a pool of short-lived but has been considered as a reference in Venezuelan music history: La retreta mayor and leaves recorded the album La retreta mayo (1976). After this debut album, La retreta mayor bequeath separates without doing live, but Alex Rodriguez continued his musical career with the album's release BUSQUEDA (1978), which reaffirms one of the most important exponents of jazz of the time . However, his recorded legacy in the world of jazz only be limited to those two albums. Later his musical career is geared towards classical guitar, both as a performer ended. Parallel develops a great job as a teacher of both classical guitar electric bass.
