Description
You are looking at the very desirable pressing of the Atrium Musicae De Madrid directed by Gregorio Paniagua performing La Spagna Music from the 15th-16th-17th centuries. This audiophile Lp set is very much sought after for its wonderful sonics.
Minor record wear apparant on cover. Records are both in NM- condition. Arthur Salvatore classifies this Lp in the Demigods section and has this to say about this Lp:LA SPAGNA- ATRIVM MVSICAE DE MADRID/GREGORIO PANIAGUA- BIS LP-163/64 "This is a 2 LP set that has long been on the TAS list. It has an incredible variety of music and instruments from a 200-year period. There are no voices. The sound is very clean, transparent, complex and extended in the highs. The harmonic richness and decay within the hall is outstanding. The soundstage is very deep, but it is not unusually wide. Anecdote: Around 12 years ago I used this LP (Side 3) to demonstrate the superiority of the Purist Audio I.C. cables to the Wireworld Gold Eclipse on phono sources for my guest at the time, Israel Blume of Coincident Speaker. Blume was so surprised and impressed that he has since used this same LP (3rd side) as one of his basic references. He has told me that "it is virtually unique in how fast it weeds out the routine components from the true contenders", usually less than a minute!"
