Ain't-a That Somethin'/Love's Dream - 45 / 7"
FREEDOM 44020 - mono1959 45 rpm 7" single by Larry O'Keefe. We really can't find any info on Larry. He put out two 45's and seemingly disappeared. (A bootleg 45 of a 3rd session has surfaced in recent years.) This disc, his first record, came out on the Liberty Records subsidiary, Freedom, for which Eddie Cochran did a fair amount of session work. Eddie is verified as the guitarist on this record by multiple sources. A side is a solid Rockabilly tune with a good vocal by Larry. Eddie can be heard loud & clear on the electric guitar on this tune. B side is a Latin (or Carribean) flavored ballad. Copy at hand is an original white label promo from our own collection. This rare item came to us many years ago as part of a collection from a retired 1950's DJ.
Disc has nice gloss showing just a few light marks. Visual grade is EXC+. Disc does have an extremely slight warp that we feel obligated to note. It is very gradual-and as we say-slight. (OK, let's quantify this as best we can. With the disc laying flat on a turntable, the highest point is less than 1/8" off the mat. That would be about three thirty seconds (3/32") of an inch. Rise and fall is very gradual. There is no 'bump'.) It does not affect play in the slightest. Disc plays nicely with almost no surface noise and clear sound!
