Description
This is Blue Note Records BST 84187, Larry Young Into Somethin', a blue and white, New York USA labeled, original stereo issue of Larry's first classic Blue Note session, with Van Gelder and the ear mark stamped in the dead wax, and featuring Grant Green, Sam Rivers and Elvin Jones. The record is in VG+(+) condition; a strong VG+, showing marks on both sides but playing quietly, with only occasional light background crackle audible at the beginning of both sides. No skips and no distortion. Nothing to interfere with the enjoyment of music. The cover with the proper 43 West 61st St. New York 23, Printed in USA address and printed spine, has a 4 1/2" piece of clear tape on the top seam and some light edge wear, but is otherwise intact. The labels have light spindle marks, but side 1 has been faded (see photo). This would make an excellent initial "play" grade copy of this rare original Blue Note with all the proper markings. In fact, I could recommend this, audibly, as a collector's grade copy as well. The record has been cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12.
