LED ZEPPELIN 111 - RARE COPY - EARLIEST PRESSING - ATLANTIC DELUXE - GATEFOLD
It looks after looking at recent listings that this is one of Led Zeppelins rarest LPs.
Please take a look carefully at the photos and although I am not an expert I will describe as seen and if you have any questions please ask before bidding.
I have compared with recent listings and the details are the same on this album as follows:
Original Red/Plum label - 1970 with the rare text above the white stripe it says 'Produced by Jimmy Page' and below 'Executive Producer: Peter Grant' This label only applied to the first pressings and was changed later with the Jimmy Page credit moved to the bottom of each label in smaller text and on all later pressings the Peter Grant credit was completely removed.
The Cat.Number on this label reads 2401002 which also is significant as a first presssing as later pressings had a dash inserted as: 2401-002
The laminate gatefold sleeve is in good condition with fully working rotating wheel and bright colours, printed by E J Day Group. Comes in the original inner sleeve with the blue lettering "Plastic Bags can be Dangerous" and with the date 0870 (inner sleeve has a part split on one seam)
Also has 'do what thy wilt' and 'so mote it be' on the run off as seen from recent listing to again signify a first early pressing. A5/B5
The vinyl is also in good condition, high gloss with no visible signs of marks on side one..on side two there are a couple of very faint hairlines when held to the light - these can't be felt when I lightly ran my fingers over. Labels in very good condition as seen on photo. Spindles also very good. Great copy rarely for sale I believe
I hope I have described as accurately as possible. I know longer have a deck so the only way I feel how confident I am in the quality is to offer a refund if not as described - (excluding postage costs) by return please and in the same condition as when sent.
I also am listing Led Zeppelin 4 - again an early Red/Plum sought after copy and am happy to combine postage of course.
