Description
This is a first press of Led Zeppelin's fourth album, owned by me from when I purchased it on day of release,
THERE IS NO EARLIER PRESSING!
"1st pressing, 1st labels, LP, gatefold sleeve, red/maroon label with Peter Grant credit, "Led Zeppelin" at bottom [of label], "Pecko Duck" etched onto runout groove on side one and "Porky" on side 2. Matrix numbers A//3 and B//3." This is from p.727 of RECORD COLLECTORS RARE RECORD GUIDE 2018, and is what my record is, exactly.
The record/vinyl is in very good condition with no sticks or jumps and plays perfectly from start to finish with only slight surface wear crackles between tracks and on the quietest /intro moments of 'Evermore and Stairway'. This is in no way intrusive and I only mention for the sake of completeness. The sleeve is also in very good condition with no tears or spine compression. There is some slight patina marks but barely noticeable, and very light wear marks at the top and bottom of the spine, but only really noticeable under extreme examination and does not detract from the all over visual appearance. See photos.
The inner is in good general condition but the seams have slight "wear tears" where the record has been returned to the sleeve over the years and worn it away but nothing of any great concern. See photos.
This early 1st press is getting harder to find, especially in this condition and does not come up for sale very often. To repeat, there is no earlier first pressing! I am only selling mine as I have the re-issue box set. I'm happy to answer any questions, thanks for looking.
