Description
All records that I offer for sale have been cleaned (if necessary) and always play-tested.
Led Zeppelin fans will know about this record, the history is well documented. EPA 228 1/2. MX166377. Side 1 - That's The Way, Going To California. Side 2 - Stairway To Heaven.
I bought this and various other Led Zeppelin items from a reliable source. Like all of the items, this record had previously been kept in storage and not been played. There are signs of some (limited) spindle use on Side 1, and none at all on Side 2! In terms of appearance, both sides are near mint. The cover is not absolutely perfect with very limited wear and minor creasing. There is a faint stain of the white of the back but I would still rate it as very good. Now to (my first) playing. From its' appearance, I expected it to be near mint too. However, it had a slightly crackly sound - for the (quiet) intro of S2H and throughout on the quieter sections of Side 1. Visually, I could see no reason for it but there was even a two rotation (mini) blip on That's The Way. It played through without any problem. My only guess is that Australian production was not quite up to (better) British standards (a bit like the cricket...I digress!). So, I've put it on at a slightly lower price and I gaurantee a 7 day return if you are not satisfied with the description. It is still a very collectable record.
I have seen varying prices for similar. Manufactured in Australia, it is not in RRPG. Nick Anderson recently indicated £55 as a guide for any of the 3 such labels in Ex condition. I have seen it advertised on ebay for over £100.
