Description
For sale is a superb 1973 UK first pressing of Led Zeppelin’s Houses Of The Holy (Atlantic K 50014) with the early A2/B3 Sterling matrix in the dead wax — a confirmed first-issue run (Variant 1).
It comes with the classic orange/green Atlantic labels, the famous gatefold sleeve, and the original textured inner sleeve (with thumb cut out).
Condition – over 50 years old and still looking and sounding fantastic:
The gatefold sleeve is in really good condition for its age. The colours are bright, the iconic artwork looks great, and there’s only light edge/corner wear and some natural ageing on the matte card — exactly what you’d expect on a 1973 sleeve. No splits, no writing, no heavy ringwear, and it displays beautifully.
The original textured lyric inner sleeve is present and in excellent shape.
The vinyl is glossy and flat. There are a few light marks and signs of past play (normal for a record over half a century old), but nothing deep. It plays absolutely brilliant — clean, powerful, and dynamic with excellent sound. A real joy to listen to.
This is a strong, honest copy of one of the greatest rock albums ever made. The early Sterling matrices, great-looking gatefold, and strong playback make it a must-have for any Led Zeppelin or classic rock collector. You won’t be disappointed.
