General Information This 12-inch vinyl LP record includes Led Zeppelin’s fifth recording that continued to maintain their position at the top of the rock heap in the early-70s. The high-fidelity stereo sound quality of this release is sure to impress any music lover that savors the music from the legendary Led Zeppelin. The record label is Atlantic Recording Corporation and the record is a first pressing that was released in 1973. The catalog number is SD 7255. This 1st pressing is one variant of a large number of variants that were pressed at the Columbia Records Pressing Plant in Pitman, New Jersey. The indication on each side’s record label and the indication on each side’s runout are as follows (respectively): Side One: ST-A-732783 CP and ST-A-732783-C CC CP AT PR STERLING RL; and Side Two: ST-A-732784 CP and ST-A-732784-FF AT PR STERLING RL CP. The “PR” is indicative of the plating for the pressing being performed by the Presswell Records Manufacturing Company’s pressing plant located in Ancora, NJ. The “CP” indicates that the record was pressed at Columbia’s Pitman. The “AT … STERLING RL” is indicative of the parties responsible for the mastering using vinyl lacquer cut technology, i.e., at Atlantic Studios by Robert (Bob) Ludwig with Sterling Sound. Sterling Sound was a renowned audio mastering studio, known for its high standards and quality work. Many audiophiles and collectors consider Sterling-mastered pressings to be superior in sound quality due to the expertise and equipment used at Sterling Sound. The names of the songs for each side can be found in the photos. This particular release includes an outside gatefold image (including the naked child models climbing a structure) and an inside gatefold image of a man lifting a young lady overhead at a castle. Notably, in a manner similar to their fourth release, there is no printed text anywhere on the album cover. The record includes the original plain white inner sleeve for the record as well as the original custom inner sleeve with the song listing, credits, and lyrics, where the plain sleeve fits into the custom sleeve. The album has always been stored in a climate-controlled environment within a smoke-free home and will be shipped through USPS Media Mail.      
Condition Details The vinyl for the record is made of durable material and has been graded as Good to Good Plus (G/G+), thereby ensuring that it will play well for years to come. The disc has some visible scratch and scuff defects. There are some pops and ticks that can be heard during playback; however, they are only noticeable through some of the quiet portions. Accordingly, the overall sound quality is still quite good. Both sides of the record were played immediately prior to creating this listing and there are no skips. In addition, the labels are clean and fully legible with little indication of wear, i.e., no scratches or scuffs and no spindle marks. The record will ship with a new clear anti-static polypropylene inner sleeve which is provided as a courtesy. The original plain white inner sleeve is fully intact and graded as G/G+. It has some minor factory-induced wrinkling, and some age-related discoloration (i.e., browning and/or yellowing). In addition, the plain white inner sleeve includes one seam split on the bottom that has been repaired. The original custom inner sleeve is fully intact and graded as Very Good Plus (VG+). It has no wrinkling, no age-related discoloration (i.e., browning and/or yellowing), no rips, and no significant ring wear. The original gatefold album cover is graded as G/G+ due to visible ring wear and other visible wear. There is also some minor wear on the top and bottom seams, the spine, the record pocket, and the corners. The outer gatefold image maintains most of its original glossy sheen. The interior gatefold illustration has some visible ring wear and other visible wear, and has maintained most of the glossy sheen. The record will ship with a new clear anti-static polypropylene outer sleeve which is provided as a courtesy.
