1st Pressings have "Livin Lovin' Wreck" on label B2.
"Wreck" being later replaced with "Maid".
Inside cover B2 has already 'Maid' replacing 'Wreck' on label.
Note also the phrase on B2, "She's A Woman", later becomes "She's Just A Woman" on subsequent releases. The early gatefold unlaminated cover is in light brown color. Later copies have dark brown color. Vinyl in white die-cut poly-lined inner bag, UK Patent No 800513 & 973939
Condition of this copy:
The sleeve: A lovely example of the 1st release 'light brown' colour, just a hint of 'green' on top corner. Edges and corners show some rubbing wear. The spine too, which is a little flat, but readable. Inside the gatefold is clean, no marks. On the front is a slight pen mark. Overall in near excellent condition considering its age (certainly seen a lot worse!)
The Original Inner Sleeve: Poly lining is a little loose and there is a split one side. Another clean lined inner is included for the LP.
The LP: Labels both sides have minor marks from past use in the centre. Vinyl has many light surface marks too - no deep marks , no scuffs or scratches that stand out. Visually very good for its age.
Overall this sounds pretty good - There is light surface noise in the run ins and quiet bits have crackle, as to be expected. No jumps or loud clicks a good listen overall..see below for a track by track assessment:
SIDE ONE Whole Lotta Love - that iconic opening sounds great, a little light crackle in the build up. When it gets going though there is some light background only, not overpowering. A good listen all the way through. Nice start!
What Is And What Should Never Be - the very quiet bits have detectable crackle, nothing too loud though. In the powerful sections it is forced into the background and the track sounds pretty good all round. No jumps or pops.
The Lemon Song - as track 2 fades into the run in here there a few faint clicks. A bit of crackle as it starts, then the music takes over and it is just great bassy rock music, the guitar break sounds awesome - just great!
Thank You - by the time this track builds I am hardly hearing the background crackle. It is there in the quiet parts but no detracting. A great listen and a fine end to side one.
SIDE TWO Heartbreaker - wow, great opening. Some very light crackle in the build up, then it kicks off and sounds great. A really pleasing listen all the way through, no pops, a little light crackle only.
Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's Just A Woman) - WOW! - sounds fantastic from the off, all the way through. Any background crackle is totally obscured here and it just sounds fantastic - a great listen
Ramble On - now this being a quieter, more acoustic track the crackle at the start is more noticeable. It is well in the background though and as that bass builds the track starts to reach the right levels. A lovely listen still, no pops - very nice, ends beautifully.
Moby Dick - It rocks! Great listen all the way. In the quiet drop down there is some of the obligatory detectable crackle, nothing overpowering and still the drum solo still a very good listen
Bring It On Home - quiet start, a little background noise. Then the build up to the loud n proud section, guitar kicks in and , wow, great fantastic rocking sound! - I was not disappointed! Although there is background crackle, it is only what you expect for the age of the vinyl. This is still a very pleasing listen. I gave it a manual 'wet' clean, and this improved the listen, so a pro clean might make it sound even better!
