Great: (No splits, colors are bold, has very light scratches/marks on record or some noticeable wear on case, scuffs, etc.)

Good: (Contains several marks or scuffs, seam splits or tears, scratches, stains and wear appropriate for age)

Fair: (Attains very noticeable wear and tear, scratches, scuffs, marks, writing, small, long or near complete splits on edges, binding may not be completely readable, etc)

Bad:(Attains extreme wear and tear from several decades of use or storage, complete splitting on edges, completely unreadable binding, several scratches, tears, marks, damaged)
