See my other auctions this week for a bunch of great rock LPs! Here’s a very rare pressing of Led Zeppelin II. This is the very FIRST pressing of the album, which is known as the Bob Ludwig Loud Mix. The initials “RL” are in the trailoff on both sides. Copies of this album were recalled off store shelves when complaints from buyers rolled in. The music was recorded so LOUDLY onto the disc that cheaper record players couldn’t track the grooves. But, when played on a mid to high end system, these pressings sound absolutely awesome. This copy is worn, but I played it all the way through and it does not skip. I’m grading it VG-. The quiet passages of this album reveal noise, but since this record was cut so loudly, the music overwhelms the noise in medium to loud passages. The cover is in decent shape with a short seam split along the top edge. No stickers, tears, or writing. Both “RL” and “SS” are in the trailoff on both sides, indicative of this rare first pressing.
