Description
LED ZEPPELIN II ROBERT LUDWIG HOT MIX RL SS Side One, LH SS Side Two. Both sides mastered at Sterling Sound. The CTH plant got a lacquer that was half RL and half LH (Lee Hulko, Ludwig’s mastering partner) and side two has the same dynamics and thundering bass from mix and master based on Robert Ludwig’s mastering notes. Vinyl Grade Very Good - due to a scratch that can be felt (shown in photo). Plays very strong I would say. See grading scale below for descriptions.
The 50+ year old record played through and did not skip on my turntable. It has scuffs and scratches with a feelable scratch across some tracks on side two. A short scratch on track five can just barely be felt. There are other scratches and scuffs. As is typical of VG- grade there is lead-in crackle and between tracks and with quieter parts of music. Also some repeat ticks will be heard in particular due to the scratch on Ramble On.
The Cover is graded VG- due to heavy wear on edges and it has a partial split on top and bottom and inside gatefold shown in photos.
No Original Inner Sleeve. With MoFi audiophile sleeve and vinyl has been Spin Cleaned.
GRADING SCALE:
M Mint - usually reserved for sealed records.
NM Near Mint with only one or two insignificant defects.
EXC Extremely nice, would be NM except for a few light hairline scratches or scuffs which do not affect play.
VG+ A nice but used record that may have a series of light scuffs or scratches. It may play with a few pops or ticks but no serious problems.
VG A well used record that still sounds OK but may have moderate surface noise, pops, etc.
G A very worn record that plays through will do until a better copy comes along!
