SUPER RARE LED ZEPPELIN II (Atlantic SD 8236) 1st US PRESSING MASTERED BY ROBERT LUDWIG. "RL" is hand-etched in the dead wax on both sides with tiny "SS" next to RL.

Considered by many audiophiles to be the finest pressing available anywhere due to the original mastering by Robert Ludwig. Only the earliest first pressing US discs have the initials "RL" and the tiny initals "SS" in the dead wax as this one does in addition to the 1A matrix numbers on both sides. SS stands for Sterling Sound where Mr. Ludwig mastered this disc. The audio performance is simply amazing on both sides. We were overwhelmed by its power.

Grading:
Jacket: (VG-) Original gatefold jacket (with 1841 Broadway address on the inside) shows moderate wear. NO seam splits and NO writing. There is some edgewear and spine wear (all spine printing is clear and legible). There is some paper loss from scratches on the front and back. The inside is very clean.
Disc labels: (NM-/NM-) Both labels (with 1841 Broadway address) are excellent and show very light spindle use. NO writing, NO stickers and NO marks.
Vinyl (visual): (VG/VG) The disc is very heavy and ultra glossy. It looks only moderately played. There are only superficial light lines - NO scuffs, NO deep scratches. The disc is NOT warped.
Vinyl (audio): (VG+/VG+) The power of this particular pressing is unbelievable, especially side 2. I have not heard a finer pressing of Led Zeppelin II. NO skips, NO jumps, NO loud pops, NO noticeable groove wear, NO loud distortion. It plays with just light crackle only noticeable in the quieter passages. Audio really is amazing with the most thunderous bass and textured mid frequencies you will ever hear for this classic LP compared to any other pressing of it! RL is hand-etched in the dead wax on both sides with tiny SS next to RL.

The original Atlantic Records 1969 inner sleeve is also included.

Packaging & Shipping:
All items are professionally packaged with high quality unused materials for shipment. No items will ever be loose in their shipping cartons. Records that are not sealed in their original shrink-wrap will never be shipped in their original jackets. All vinyl will be in poly-lined sleeves and outside of their original jackets so that no seam splitting can result from the shipping process.

Shipping charges for vinyl discs include the cost of postage and boxes with extra padding. Good packaging is not cost effective but we insist upon safe packaging of vinyl discs. We do not want you to receive damaged items!
