Description
I sell vinyl records with complete honesty and reliability. Above all things I am a record collector and music lover. I only sell records that I would want to receive. I know well the disappointment of receiving an over-graded record that turns up two weeks late. That is not the service you will receive here, so bid with total confidence. I don’t sell a lot of records because I spend a lot of time carefully finding, grading and listing them and do not like to rush this process, as many sellers must do to be able to sell 100 records a week!
I am mostly a collector of old time music, pre-war blues and folk, so buy job-lots that often contain rare records that aren’t to my taste so to eBay they go!

So here we have a beautiful example of a 1st UK pressing of Led Zeppelin’s seminal second record.
It is complete with gatefold 1st press sleeve in light brown and as with all 1st presses, it has the Lemon Song credit on labels and sleeve. This was quickly replaced with the more common ‘Killing Floor’

Recorded quickly during Led Zeppelin's first American tours, Led Zeppelin II provided the blueprint for all the heavy metal bands that followed it. Since the group could only enter the studio for brief amounts of time, most of the songs that compose II are reworked blues and rock & roll standards that the band was performing on-stage at the time. Not only did the short amount of time result in a lack of original material, it made the sound more direct. Jimmy Page still provided layers of guitar overdubs, but the overall sound of the album is heavy and hard, brutal and direct. "Whole Lotta Love," "The Lemon Song," and "Bring It on Home" are all based on classic blues songs -- only, the riffs are simpler and louder and each song has an extended section for instrumental solos. Of the remaining six songs, two sport light acoustic touches ("Thank You," "Ramble On"), but the other four are straight-ahead heavy rock that follows the formula of the revamped blues songs. While Led Zeppelin II doesn't have the eclecticism of the group's debut, it's arguably more influential. After all, nearly every one of the hundreds of Zeppelin imitators used this record, with its lack of dynamics and its pummeling riffs, as a blueprint. The iconic blues rock album!

Sleeve Condition.
The 1st press textured gatefold UK 1st sleeve with blue writing on spine is in lovely condition. There are no rips or splits to mention. The colours are still vibrant and clear. There is some mild shelf wear to mention and a small stain to top right. The edges are still nice and sharp and the spine perfectly eligible and straight. The rear shows some marks and the inside is near perfect. As you can see from the pics it’s a stunner!

Label Condition.
The first press plum labels with the Lemon Song credit are in beautiful condition with no rips, writing or stains. Under a halogen under very mild spindles can be seen!

Vinyl Visual Condition.
The record itself looks perfect on eye inspection! It still retains its factory shine and lustre and looks as new. Under a halogen, the occasional light sign of play can be seen but it is clear this has seen light play.

Vinyl Audio Condition.
The record sounded amazing! It jumps off the platter with a rich, crisp sound on all frequencies. The 1st presses of Led Zepp ii are just second to none. The instruments are so clearly definable and the dynamics just perfect. There was some mild static between tracks but no distortion whatsoever even on the loudest parts, and this is a loud cut!

All my records are sent first class, tracked and signed for. Where insurance is needed, the cost will be covered by myself. I will endeavour to post all records a day after payment is made.
Records will be sent in defenda-box mailers which are strong corrugate cardboard boxes ensuring that no bending can take place. They are in essence bomb proof!
Records will be sent housed in new poly-lined inners outside of the sleeve to protect both the sleeve and original inner
I hand clean records with Clear groove and a microfiber cloth, however, if you use your own system or machine and would prefer I didn’t, then please ask.
In the unlikely case you have reason to disagree with my grading, then do not hesitate to get in touch for a no quibble full refund, although I do ask that return postage is covered by the buyer.
