Original 1st US pressing including Robert Ludwig’s “Hot” mastering. Perhaps, it’s subjective but in the existing discussion it seems to me that the fact that the copies pressed at the Monarch plant are the best ones is undeniable. When describing this copy I’ll try to be as much conservative as I can because it’s very important. Concerning the playback, the vinyl sounds great and you’ll enjoy its sound. I’d grade the audio as Excellent due to some light occasional background noise and static, which by the way is also heard on Near Mint copies with Robert Ludwig’s mastering. The vinyl doesn’t have any skips or pops, containing a crystal clear Monarch’s audio which is further enhanced by Ludwig’s “Hot Mix” mastering. 1st print textured raw cardboard gatefold cover with a rare stickers combination for this issue. The majority of the covers of this issue don’t have these hype stickers. Original promotional “Includes the Hit Single Whole Lotta Love” hype sticker with the catalog number SD8236 affixed to the front cover. The back cover contains a very rare track listing sticker with the text of purple hue as oppose to the regular sticker with brown text that can commonly be found on the covers of the commercial release issue. The album comes with an original Atlantic Records “Aretha Franklin Soul’69” inner sleeve which came with Atlantic’s releases from 1968 to 1969.  Original orange-green Atlantic Records labels with a large Atlantic Records fan logo and the SD 8236 catalog number. The labels include the MO suffix indicating a Monarch pressing and the “Mfg By Atlantic Recording Corp., 1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y." rim text. 1st US pressing vinyl featuring Robert Ludwig’s “Hot” mastering and Sterling Sound “SS” credits on both sides. The full matrix numbers with all of the details in the runout grooves: Side 1 - ST-A-691671-MO-CC RL SS MR LW △13933 (I) W AT / Side 2- ST-A-691672-MO-CC RL SS MR LW △13933-x (I) W AT.

The cover is in very stunning Excellent Plus condition. The ring wear commonly found on the covers of this issue is almost completely absent on the cover of this copy. There is a very light hint of it at the top of the back cover, which also has a couple of very light barely noticeable indentation marks. The edges and the spine are in great condition only having some very light minimal scuffing. The interior gatefold cover is in Near Mint condition. I grade the vinyl as somewhere between Strong Very Good and Very Good Plus visually. It retains its shiny factory lacquer having some very light non-feelable hairlines, marks as well as scuffs from the inner sleeve, which is in Excellent condition and doesn't have any edge splits, only containing a couple of very light stains at the top. The labels are in stunning Near Mint Minus condition and don't have any scuffs or wear. As already mentioned above the vinyl sounds great and the static most likely could get reduced or go away if the record is professionally cleaned with a VPI machine.
