Description
Led Zeppelin – III 3 1970 – very early UK pressing red / plum labels with 'Celebration' misprint (Vinyl LP Atlantic 2401002) nice audio
AUDIO SAMPLES AVAILABLE BELOW
Very early UK 1970 pressing with red and plum labels and the rare 'Celebration', instead of 'Celebration Day', misprint on the side 1 label. Fully-laminated gatefold sleeve with wheel in full working order.
Vinyl visual: Both sides retain their original shine. Side 2 is in Excellent condition with very little in the way of marks. Side 1 is in similar condition with the exception of 5 scuffs/scratches (which are not deep and don’t affect the audio too noticeably though they are easily visible – listen for yourself at the links below) so this side grades visually at about very good/very good+ because of those marks.
There are only a few small spindle marks on the labels so it looks like this record has not been played a lot.
Vinyl audio: I have played through both sides on a quality system and the sound quality is excellent-. The audio is beautifully rich, clear and dynamic with no signs of inner groove distortion/wear. No skips, jumps or sticks. There is some static and crackle that can be heard in the quiet sections, but otherwise, a very nice sounding record.

Cover: Excellent- condition with clear, readable and solid spine. Fully-laminated gatefold sleeve with wheel in full working order. Original cover printed and made in England by E. J. Day, retaining Executive Producer: Peter Grant credits which were removed from later covers (and is not present on the record labels). Some slight edge wear and waving at the edge.
Inner: Original poly-lined inner in very good+ condition (just a couple of very minor tears around the centre ring, otherwise great condition).

Matrix side 2: 2401002 B7 So mote it be (hand etched)
I make every effort to grade as accurately as possible so if you have any questions or issues let me know and please get in touch before leaving negative feedback.
All items are packaged in quality cardboard mailers with further cardboard stiffeners included to protect the record and prevent movement during postage.
I grade using the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."
As well as the above grades, NEAR MINT is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them. For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also often added to the grading.
