Description
Led Zeppelin III 3 Vinyl Record Album 1st Press Red Plum Peter Grant .
This classic album is from my own personal record collection and bought by me at time of release in October 1970. I remember because it was my first LP purchase. So if you are looking for a genuine 100% first pressing this is it.
Condition: The vinyl and sleeve are both in superb condition. ( I don’t say mint as that to me means brand new, never played and still sealed)
Sleeve : The Gatefold sleeve is in great condition, no cuts, tears or writing. The spine is nearly perfect with no compressions. ( See pic) The front cover has no sticker marks and the rotating sleeve turns perfectly and aligns in all the undamaged circular cutaways precisely.
The inner gatefold is pristine, likewise the back cover, apart from 3 barely noticeable age related laminated lines.
Vinyl :The record is in excellent condition. It plays from start to finish with great clarity, detail and resonance and no skips , jumps or sticks. There is slight surface crackle only between tracks and not when the music is playing. It is a treat to listen to this 1970 genuine classic production.
Labels: The red plum Atlantic label has the Peter Grant Executive Producer credit with all the other 1st Press indicators. ( See pics) Labels are in lovely condition, no scratches or writing and any spindle marking only visible under light . The catalogue number is 2401002 unlike subsequent pressings which have it separated as 2401-002.
Run Off Groove : Both Crowley quotes appear as they should; :-
Side 1 “ Do what thou wilt” and “ So mote it be” on side 2 :with handwritten matrixes 2401002 -A5 and the same 2401002 -B5 on side 2 run off grooves.
Hopefully this description covers everything, if not please contact me, and if you want THE First Pressing Led Zeppelin 111 look no further!
