Description

Hello there.  I'm selling my much loved vinyl collection that I've accumulated over the last 59 years as we are moving house and won't have the room.  This EXTREMELY RARE 1972 PLUM LABEL vinyl is in EXCELLENT PLUS condition.  This is the extremely sought after VERY FIRST PRESSING variation with the Peter Grant credit on the labels.  It also has an inverted feather symbol on the Side 2 label.  Please see the photographs.
This was bought brand new in November 1971 and has been extremely well looked after, although general wear and tear of the record sleeve comes with the age (there's a small tear on the printed inner sleeve, and the spine has a scuff.  It is illustrated in the photographs).  I would like it to go to a good home.

Any questions, please ask away. . .

Notes

1st UK pressing on 'plum' label which is red/white/plum. Feather symbol on side 2 is inverted.

No mention of Superhype Music Inc.

Executive Producer credit for Peter Grant (which was removed in various ways from all subsequent pressings).

'Marketed by Polydor Records Limited' at 6 o'clock on labels.

Heavyweight unlaminated gatefold sleeve, printed and made in England.

Inner sleeve has lyrics to 'Stairway to Heaven' on one side and track titles and credits on the other. The first inner sleeves are dark gray with two foldback edges to the side. Interestingly, whilst Jimmy Page succeeded in having the Peter Grant credit removed from the labels, they were never removed from the inner sleeves.

There are currently 7 verified and known 'plum' label variants.  This is the first variation.

This release was commonly referred to as 'Led Zeppelin IV', to follow in sequence with their previous three releases, but no actual title appears on the release.
