An early Zep IV that plays great...and doesn't cost the earth. When you listen to a copy like this which is high quality and, in reality,, close to the original masters..it does beg the question,,,. Why would you ever pay more than £50 for a great original ZepIV! Well worth taking a closer look I'd say.>>>
This Zep IV copy comes from Q2 1972 - just months after the last red & plum copies. A copy like this makes for an excellent compromise for someone looking for some early magic - without having to shell out major $$$$ Note - labels do not mention Warners in the perimeter and text is all found in the southern half of the label - these are the 1st orange and green copies. 'Misty Mountain Top' typo still exhibiting. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original early heavy-card gatefold cover. Lyric inner is present.100% complete 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex) Very well preserved and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of slight marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with deviation in a couple of spots. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Stairway PLAYS CLEAN....even that mega fussy intro. Nine out of ten original copies never manage that. Always THE most difficult tracks to find playing perfectly clean. The same is true of California too...this track is mega fussy. Apart from one solitary tick in the opening seconds - it plays superb. Highly recommended. Well worth the money to get you close to those original OCT71 masters.
Cover (Ex-) In great condition with really well preserved surfaces. Slightest edge wear but tidy. The interior looks really nice. The spine exhibits minimal wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and has clearly been looked after.
Inner (Ex)  no splits.
