Description

An original 1st press of Zep IV on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A3/B3 - very 1st cut. This label version/variation is not one of the earliest iterations - but this copy would have been available for purchase soon after 1st release. In fact, most likely to have been on the shop shelves for the Xmas 1971 market. So, this record is just celebrating it's 50th birthday! The vinyl comes housed in an original cover with left panel glued shut. Note the Kinney/Atlantic sticker on the rear. There's also an original 4 credit inner with exposed flipbacks. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete. 
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In great condition and it's difficult to find early copies looking this smart. It's clearly seen light careful use. Under close inspection there are a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level with one deviation. The red and plum copies sound great - period. And I'm pleased to report - this is one is no slouch. Upbeat numbers are delivered with energy and bags of low-level. STAIRWAY/EVERMORE/CALIFORNIA. Each of these tracks, for differing reasons, are terribly difficult to find playing properly clean. But this example is playing them pretty clean. Not perfectly clean  - you might detect a touch of what I would describe as 'presence' in the quietest moments [e.g. that uber fussy intro to Stairway]. But this level is better than many copes will manage to deliver. Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex-) Has clearly been cared for with nice smooth and flat front and rear. Surfaces are clean with little sign of ageing. The interior looks great - no issues at all. Some signs of edge wear on bottom edge and a 1c.m. wear-through top middle right panel. The openings are still sharp and firm. The spine looks well above average - no issues. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. 
Inner (Vg) Edges have split so I have taped them up to secure. Surfaces pretty good though.
