Description

Well...you don't see one of these every day of the week!..
An original 1st press from Xmas 1971. Matrix A3/B4. This is the final red and plum version. They've finally got round to correcting Misty Mountain Hop. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. There's also the original textured inner with flipbacks and five credits. 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen lightest use. Super lustre - and waste wax showing. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of slightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. Fully tested from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Clean intros and inbetweens super clarity. You're not far from those original masters in reality - some great audio. Excellent energy, but some finesse in those quieter moments. Yes, you can find red & plum Zep IV's...but in my experience...it's the perfectly clean player through those popular acoustic numbers - that's the difficult thing to do. Clean slow builds....excellent clarity into the mix. I mean it is literally acing it from the audio perspective. EVERMORE is otherworldly...Not sure I've heard it like this....practically holographic. California is mega fussy...and this copy is just totally clean! Can you hear Plant exhale before he starts..? - really low in mix...but on a clean copy you should be able to make it out. A couple of crackles and a couple of slight ticks early in the intro to Stairway...but other than that it is playing the intro pretty clean which is a difficult task on this uber popular acoustic number. Highly recommended. Outlandishly good.
Cover (Ex/Ex-) Very clean front without any sign of the dreaded ageing process. In my experience this is VERY unusual. Surfaces are pretty much unworn. Minor edge wear in the odd spot. Lovely solid rigid cover and opening panel. Sharp openings. Interior looks superb - a thing of beauty.... Wowzer!
Inners (Vg) Really Clean surfaces. But some splitting. Tape repaired along bottom edge.
