Description

1st press of Zep IV -- The early incarnation with Peter Grant showing and Zeppelin at the foot of the label. BASICALLY...BEFORE Page spotted Grant had got cheeky again! Matrix A3/B4. FEATHER - correct orientation. In other words -- it has been "corrected".
Ok, so is that all that's interesting on this copy? Well no, it's not all by any means!....read on>>
Eagle eyed ZepIV Label gurus may or may not have spotted something apparent on some of the VERY 1st DAY 1 inverted feather copies. Ok -- the obvious thing is that inverted feather -- for sure. But if you study these DAY1 copies you should notice ANOTHER error that is apparent on some DAY1 copies. On side 2 -- the parallel edges to the red and purple sectors should be perfectly straight...But on DAY1 copies with the inverted feather the plum sector edge [side 2] has an uneven/broken edge. Essentially  -- another printing error. NOW --- take a look at the copy above.^^^ Look at the side 2 plum sector edge. It still carries the plum edge error - in quite a pronounced way. So, the inverted feather -- from probably a day or two earlier has been corrected -- but the typesetter still haven't spotted the edging error. What does this mean? Everything, and nothing....ha,  Basically -- this copy might not have the DAY1 inverted feather. But it was likely pressed at the SAME TIME....within a DAY or TWO....of those very earliest pre-release inverted feather copies. Pretty cool - either way. And is actually - from a quality control perspective...quite standout, It would have been corrected for quickly.
Original Textured inner with exposed flipbacks and the gatefold cover.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has seen relatively minor use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of slight marks per side -- nothing remotely troublesome...... A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an at least EXCELLENT level of playback.... Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Nice clean feed...those acoustic numbers play nice and clean without the annoying background you often find. To be honest -- I have rarely heard a more consistently  sounding clean player...Those acoustic numbers just sound fantastic with a clan background. Stairway -- literally I HAVE NEVER HEARD BETTER....Can't fault really... I mean do they all sound like this? HELL NO!! COMES WITH A FULL MONEYBACK GUARANTEE -- IF THIS RECORD DOES NOT BLOW YOUR MIND....<<<
Cover (Ex) Solid front  and good interior. The rear exhibits minor signs of wear and absolutely no ageing...Only slight edge wear.   Spine is 90%+ intact with wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) As is often the case the inner has split along the bottom edge -- I have neatly tape repaired.
