Very early Atlantic Records pre-release promotional DJ radio station copy of Led Zeppelin’s fourth studio album. This DJ copy was shipped to radio stations several months, circa August-October 1971, before the album’s official release. The gatefold cover of this promotional copy is in Near Mint condition and it’s the best condition I’ve ever seen. The front cover contains a large black “ZOSO” song title hype sticker with the “1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10023” address and the catalog number SD 7208 at the bottom. The cover of this promotional copy, just like the other pre-release Atlantic Records copies, also comes with an orange round “Promotional Copy Not For Sale” sticker. One more feature differentiating the promotional release from the commercial release is the presence of the white “Sample Copy Not For Sale” labels that also contain the “1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.” address and the catalog number SD 7208. The vinyl, just like the Near Mint cover, is also in great condition. It’s fantastic sound is not only justified by the excellent condition but also mostly, due to the outstanding prime cut mastering performed by George Peckham, who we also know by the nickname “Porky”. His etchings “Porky” on Side 1 and “Pecko Duck” on Side 2 can be found in the runout grooves of the vinyl. To me, this promotional copy’s sound is much more vivid and distinct than the one on the commercial copy. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - ST-A-712285-F PORKY AT/AT PR / Side 2 - ST-A-712286-C PECKO DUCK PR. This promotional DJ radio station copy comes with the original raw textured matte brown thick paper inner sleeve with the lyrics on one side and the track titles and  credits on the other which include the fifth “ZOSO” symbol attributed to Sandy Denny.

The cover is in stunning Near Mint condition. It's extremely hard to find even a commercial release cover that would be in such a clean condition, not to even mention the super rare promotional pre-release DJ copy. The original raw textured inner sleeve is in Near Mint Minus condition. The glossy vinyl is in outstanding condition and is graded as Excellent. It has only a couple of barely noticeable super light surface scuffs from the inner sleeve. The clean white promotional labels are in superb Excellent condition. They're completely scuff- and wear-free, only having a couple of very light spindle marks that could only be seen under a strong light source.
