Description

Led Zeppelin IV - First Pressing from 1971. This is the rarest version and is seldom offered for sale - especially in good condition.

Features of this pressing are -

1. Peter Grant executive producer credit on the labels. After the very first initial release, the credit was stickered over for the next batch, and subsequently removed from further issues.

2. Superhype credit is missing. All some credited to "Kinney Music". This was later changed to "Kinney Music/Superhype"

3. Positioning of "LED ZEPPELIN" is on the purple area of the label. This was moved to the red area on subsequent issues.

4. Positioning of "Under licence from Atlantic..." is in the red area of the label. This was moved to the white area on subsequent issues.

5. Etched "Pecko Duck" and "Porky" in out-groove

6. Matrix numbers. Amended matrix on side 1. Side 1 - 2401012 (3 crossed out numbers) then A // 3. Side 2 - 2401012 B//4

7. Inner sleeve - contains photography credit to "Keith Morris". Later removed.

8. Outer sleeve - matt finish 

Condition

Vinyl - very good indeed. Only a few minor visible marks and nothing of concern. Doesn't look as though it has been played much. Labels are very clean and fresh - little spindle wear.

Sleeve - very good. Unfortunately, the record wasn't kept in a protective sleeve, so there is some edge/corner wear. There is also a 2" split to bottom seam at opening (no card missing). See photos.  

Record will be securely packaged in "Defenda" packaging and mailed by recorded post.
