Description

This is an LP called Led Zeppelin IV and sometimes referred to as , Four Symbols, The Fourth Album , released in the UK by Atlantic Records in 1971 catalogue number 2401012. This is a very rare early pressing.

The earliest possible pressings had unique labels which were altered, even before the official release date
The usual test of label print for first pressings of this vinyl are as follows and are met in every instance with this copy, as can be seen from the photos:-

1. The text "Under license from Atlantic Recording Corpn., U.S.A." is printed just above the white strip, in the red part of the label.

2. The label only lists Kinney Music Ltd at the bottom of the track listing, completely forgetting Superhype Music.

3.  In these earliest pressings, the band name is in smaller letters near the bottom of the label.

4. There is an executive production credit to Peter Grant printed on the bottom of each label which does not appear on any of the later issue labels.

5. The record label is of deeper plum, and vibrant orange/red on earlier records.

6. The last difference is the inner sleeve. The inner sleeve is a darker colour beige, matte slip sleeve.

VINYL: EX- The vinyl is shiny There are no visible surface marks.
OUTER SLEEVE: EX-with very minor corner damage, record shop label on front, and a couple of small marks on rear.
INNER SLEEVE: EX-virtually as new with slight crease of shape of record.

CAT NO: 2401012
MATRIX: 2401012A#3 and 2401012B#4

The record will be posted in a Defenda pack, designed for posting 12" vinyl records
