'Plum' Atlantic pressing on red/white/plum label.

One of the known 'plum' label variants. Specific to this label are:

'Marketed by Polydor Records Limited' at 6 o'clock on labels.

'Under license from Atlantic Recording Corp.' in white area under Atlantic on left side.

Led Zeppelin is printed above spindle hole, Variation 3 had a printed label in smaller type-face, and Variations 1 and 2 had the band name printed below the spindle hole in the 'plum' section.

Catalogue number at 3 o'clock above circular Atlantic logo reads 'deluxe 2401012'

There is no Peter Grant credit on the label but the printed inner sleeve still retains the Executive Producer Peter Grant credit, and song publishing credits are:
Kinney Music Ltd./Superhype Music Inc.

Side 2 has the following error: 'Misty Mountain Hop' is misspelt 'Misty Mountain Top'.

This release was commonly referred to as 'Led Zeppelin IV', to follow in sequence with their previous three releases, but no actual title appears on the release.
THE GATEFOLD SLEEVE: EX
Excellent for the year with slight wear to the edges and the spine is excellent. No labels stuck on or removed and no handwriting present. Unlaminated inside and outside gatefold which is nice and clean. No ring-wear on either side. There is no inner sleeve unfortunately but one can be bought /swopped cheaply from a poor copy.
LABELS:
No spindle wear really and does not have any evidence of labels removed or writing either side. The black print on the red, plum and white labels are excellent.

THE VINYL LP AND TEST PLAYING: EX
For its age the LP has no signs of scratches, scuffs, or hard wear and looks really excellent. There is almost no ring wear to speak of. I test played this on my high end Naim amplifers in series, Kef Foundry speakers and Audio Concept record deck. I found it to have excellent sound with very little surface noise, and only the odd crackle and click but nothing to deter listening pleasure. There are no jumps, mistracking, sticking or warping. The disc diplays a clean stereo sound with distinct vocals and a good separation of instruments.
The disc will be deep - groove cleaned on my Cleaning Machine which uses cleaning fluid and a hoover system before sending to the winner. I will include an anti-static inner sleeve and new card inner sleeve. The Gatefold sleeve will have a new plastic outer. The disc will be very well packed with cardboard reinforcers and an outer cardboard case for vinyl posting.
