Description
Led Zeppelin – Led Zeppelin II
Atlantic, SD 8236
Turkey, 1969
r25316068
It is said that this unique cover was designed on request of a manager who didn't like the international and official artwork by a Melodi Records employee and artist by the name of Betül Atlı (who also designed the Iron Butterfly In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida cover).
The Turkish co-founder and then top executive of Atlantic Ahmet Ertegun who signed the first contract of the Led Zeppelin with Atlantic approved it and it was printed for Turkey only.
There are multiple variations of this Turkish release,
on cover:
- with or without "Filmler cali grafik Baski Azim Matbaasi" on bottom right of back cover (i.e. graphics by, printed by)
- pale white/beige or darker beige background on front
- lighter or darker yellow/orange (top to bottom) Led Zeppelin II title on front top left
- with or without the cat # and "stereo" on bottom right
on labels:
- serif and sans serif font (usually the sans serif version has "Led Zeppelin II" centered under the Atlantic logo on the upper part of the label while the serif version is shifted to the right and not centered)
- some prints have correct tracks list, while others have the side 2 tracks on label one, and side 1 tracks on label 2
All the variants have a misspelled title "Rample On" instead of "Ramble On" on label but not on the cover.
This variant has:
- no additional text on back bottom
- darker beige background and darker yellow/orange title on front
- no cat # and "stereo" on bottom right
- correct tracks list on labels
- serif font on labels
Condition is:
VG/VG

Unfortunately, for the time being I’m unable to accept orders from US buyers due to the current tariff complications. Australia Post suspended US shipments for a period and has only recently resumed them through a partner service that is both costly and cumbersome.
If you are interested in any of my records for sale, you can still purchase them by using a parcel-forwarding service that provides you with an Australian delivery address (then you self forward to your home address). I’ve used this method for many years. Some examples include Shop&Ship, ausff.com.au, and shippn.com, though there are certainly others. Please check their shipping and import fees, as costs can vary significantly.
Shipping costs: ASK FOR SHIPPING COST TO YOUR COUNTRY IF NOT DISPLAYED
I can apply shipping discounts in case of multiple records combined into one shipment.
I will ship the records outside from their original cover and printed inner sleeve to deliver them in their best condition. Everything will be bubble wrapped and shipped in special record box.
I use to ask to receive my new records (originally sealed) outside of their original sleeve, so feel free to ask me for this service on new records too.
