CONDITION:
VINYL – Excellent -. Clean and shiny. Some very light surface marks but lays well and sounds great.
Matrix / Runout: 11 18 Do what thou wilt 2401002 A-5 Matrix / Runout: 1 3 1 So mote it be 2401002 B-5
This is the same as the first pressing but the label details are different – see below.
More details on audio condition. I have recently given this LP another test play on my decent (Rega Planar) turntable. I have listened closely and can say with certainty that this LP does play very well. The acoustic guitars – of which there are plenty - sound really crisp and clear. There is some low level crackle in both run- in grooves but this is not audible on the tracks. The same applies to the run out grooves. There are few odd “pops” on track A1, A2, A3 & B1 but really not many. These pops may improve by giving the LP a professional standard clean. Beyond this I really could not hear any distortion. I also noticed that the disc is not perfectly flat – there is a very slight wave. The pick up moved vertically perhaps just 1 or 2 mm.
SLEEVE –.
First issue fully laminated gatefold with the revolving wheel. All in perfect working order with no damage. Stored for years in poly sleeve so it’s in excellent condition generally. Just two minor issues:
- A small area (smaller than a 5p piece) of damage on the top right rear where a sticker has been removed. See second picture
- Some slight discolouration due to sunlight.

LABEL : RED PLUM Atlantic with logo to the RIGHT of the spindle. THERE IS NO Peter Grant credit, production credits above centre. See photo – so it is not the very first release - but very close to it.
Also the Cat. Number towards the right of the label says 2401-002. (There first press had no split in the number). The Credit at the bottom of the label states - "Warner Bros Music".
There are a few spindle marks but there is a small red sticker on each side – see picture– the product of youthful enthusiasm

I am not a dealer - just a newly retired old hippy downsizing and trying to find decent homes for my Vinyl collection before I croak and some dealer gets to hoover it all up. All my LPs have been stored carefully over the years in individual poly-bags and with new inner poly inner sleeves where required. I ship all the LPs in these bags and use either strong recylced cardboard or bespoke mailers. Part of an extensive private collection now being liquidated. Most items bought new upon release and stored carefully in smoke-free pet free home.
