Description
Led Zeppelin - OSAKA 1971 3xLP Picture Disc Limited VERY RARE!! HARD TO FIND!! SUPER RARE TRIPLE LP LIMITED EDITION
HERE we have a Very VERY rare TRIPLE album in picture disc format that was sold in limited edition MANY years ago (not a new release by a long shot!) ... the legendary first Led Zeppelin tour of Japan, complete, with rare tracks = all song versions are exclusive renditions to this set: Led Zeppelin - September 29, 1971. Festival Hall, Osaka, Japan. One of the legendary ZEPPELIN shows that was ever recorded. Includes a rare performance of "Friends" and "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" and an extra long "Whole Lotta Love" + more, all which make this show superb . Rumored to be multi tracked... In the fall of 1971, Led Zeppelin spent several weeks in Japan, drinking sake, shopping for antiques and samurai swords, visiting houses of ill repute and getting banned from the Tokyo Hilton for life. While they were plundering an entire island nation, they did find time to play a fantastic show on September 29, 1971 -- the last night of what seems to have been an excellent time spent.A few things stand out - Robert is very talkative, and speaks slowly so that the few English speakers in the audience understand. The crowd is very polite - at one point before "Stairway To Heaven", Robert mentions (complains?) about the audience being so quiet.
There are enough rarities here to make this worth collecting - legendary "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" and "Friends" and a long, long "Whole Lotta Love" medley. The sound is excellent for the underground genre ... anyone expecting audiophile needs to research underground LP recordings....still very listenable, very enjoyable and a extremely rare collectible with only a few hundred copies ever made...
Zeppelin fans MUST consider this a must-have. We're pretty sure it's got the most complete song set of any release of this date. Throw in a particularly good night for John Bonham, one of the most relaxed Jimmy Page performances ever, and Plant in great voice for the last night of their first tour of Japan 42 years ago!
