(All records have been recently cleaned, using the Spin Clean Vinyl Record Washer MKII Record Cleaning System and should be largely free from dust and grit. Also, all records will be posted in either brand new, purpose-built, cardboard record mailers or (used only once) Amazon cardboard packs, which are super strong).

Free postage on additional vinyl purchases: Don’t you just hate winning a record in an auction for £1 and then having to pay another £4 or more on top just to get it posted to you? I certainly do. Well, my solution to that is to offer my auction winners the chance to have multiple records sent for just one lot of postage. Here’s how it works;

·      All of my auction listings are done in batches, which are set to end within an hour or so of each other on the same day.

·      Bid on as many items as you like and if you win one, don’t pay for it until all of my other auctions in that batch have finished (or until you are sure that you don’t want any more of my items for that day).

·      After all of the auctions for that day have finished, you should receive an invoice from me with the correct postal discount applied. Then, you can make your payment. 

·      I can post up to 6 LPs (single, not double) and/or 12” singles in one mailer for a single payment of £3.50 (that’s £3 to the Royal Mail and 50p for the mailer/label printing etc. I don’t make any profit on postage). Any more than 6 and would have to use a second mailer (with up to 6 LPs in) for another £3.50.

VINYL CONDITION    = EX

SLEEVE CONDITION = EX (has a small tear on the right hand side spine and a crease on the top rear, otherwise it's NM)

The vinyl that I have listed as ‘EX’ in this current batch of auctions may either have one or two very faint surface scratches, or in most cases no visual defects at all. During playback, there may be some very minor ‘ticks’ from static or dust. If I was a braver seller, I would list many of them as NM as they really are that good looking, but I’d rather that my buyers were delighted than disappointed and so I will stick with ‘EX’ for now J .

*The “Goldmine Standard” record/sleeve condition grading system explained:

(NM) Near Mint

A nearly perfect record. A NM record has more than likely never been played, and the vinyl will play perfectly, with no imperfections during playback. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. A 45 RPM or EP sleeve should have no more than the most minor defects, such as any sign of slight handling. An LP cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes, or other noticeable similar defects. The same should be true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves, etc.  

(EX) Excellent (*also known as ‘Very Good Plus’ or ‘VG+’)

An Excellent record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Defects should be more of a cosmetic nature, not affecting the actual playback as a whole. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK". The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. Spindle marks may be present. Picture sleeves and inner sleeves will have some slight wear, slightly turned-up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear, and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation, or cut corner. In general, if not for a couple of minor things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint.  

VG (Very Good) 

Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time. 

(G) Good, (G+) Good Plus

A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be played through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear. A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear, or other defects will be present. While the record will be playable without skipping, noticeable surface noise and "ticks" will almost certainly accompany the playback.
